Book #6: "I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You" - Ally Carter : I want to start by saying that this is one of my all time favorite books, which might sound funny when you take into account it's about a high school girl falling in love for the first time.
Before you get all carried away with thinking, 'wow, she only likes books about immature kids in high school.' Let say this, IT IS NOT TRUE! I just happen to get a good laugh out of awkward-teenage-girl-who-doesn't-have-any-idea-how-to-talk-to-boys kinda books.
Let's be honest here, who doesn't like reading one of those books every know and then? Anyways, so this book is no exception to the whole awkward-teenage-girl-thing.
Cammie Morgan goes to Gallagher Academy For Exceptional Young Women, however when they say 'exceptional' they have a very different meaning then the traditional sense of the word. Gallagher Academy is a boarding school for girls who are in training to be spies. Cammie has been attending this school with all her best friends, Liz and Bex, for the last 3 years and have learned from many different teachers all of whom are the best of the best and came from the CIA, MI6, and other organizations(which happen to be classified).
However, they may teach you how to speak several different languages at spy school but the one they most definitely do not teach you is 'boy'. And Cammie finds that out all to soon when she ends up meeting a boy, Josh, in the middle of a practice mission. What's a girl undercover supposed to do when approached by a cute guy who has no clue that she could know about 14 different ways to knock him out before he could even have the chance to say hello?
This starts a whole chain of events that go from crazy to insane. Cammie, Liz and Bex with the help of the school newbie Macy, end up doing some serious recon on 'the subject' a.k.a Josh (who ends up being Cammie's boyfriend). From braking into his home when he is out, to stealing his trash, and putting a tracking device into his sneaker, all so they can come one step closer to finding out just how boys work. While this may all seem a little out there to us this is just another day at school for these spies.
Cammie finds that she can't have it all, the super secret spy life and the hot boyfriend, it's a choice between the life she's always known and the world she's always wanted to know.
That's all I'm going to be telling you, if you wanna know more your just gonna have to go read it for yourself. :)
Next up is book #7 which will be "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy" - Ally Carter. Yes, it is the second book in the series. Don't judge, I'm telling you these are awesome books! Until next time!

Book #5: "Ripple Effect" ...Finished!!
March 22, 2013 Book#5 "Ripple Effect" by Paul McCusker: So It was pretty good I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Elizabeth ended up living "Sarah's" life for a while and then ends up finding out that everyone in it is out to kill her! Yeah, heavy stuff. But, in the end her friend Jeff 'universe jumps' (for lack of a better term) and comes to save the day.
And just as I said in my last post it was just like in "Fringe" where there is a copy of each of us in the other universe. There was actually a whole lot of similar things in the book that were the same in "Fringe".. I checked and the book came out in 2008 and "Fringe" started up around the same time so it is simply a coincidence.
Overall it was a pretty good read. However, I noticed after I was done reading it that it is part of a trilogy so I will have to go track down the other two books now.
Book #6 is "I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You" by Ally Carter. This is actually a book that I have already read but it's been a while and it is one of my favorites! So yeah, that's all there is for this time. More to come soon!

Book #5: "Ripple Effect"
March 20, 2013 "Ripple Effect" by Paul McCusker: Okay, so this book I only came across because it fell off out when I was trying to get a different book. It is about a teenage girl, Elizabeth Forde, who is sick of her 'embarrassing' parents and so decides to run away.
Cause you know that is the way to handle things..
So anyway the night before she is going to make a run for it with her best friend, Jeff, she decides to take a bath (you know cause if your going to run away you might as well be clean). Anyways, so she takes a bath and while she is in there strange things start to happen until she it literally PULLED UNDER THE WATER AND HELD THERE FOR A FEW MINS! Now reader I don't know about you but after reading this I am going to be a little bit worried next time I go to take a bath. Anyways, so finally she is let go and she comes out of the water and it is all muddy with grass in it and understandably she freaks out. She struggles for a good almost 2 pages to get out of the tub, which I must confess I found slightly humorous, after she gets out it is all downhill from there. She seems to have come out of the water into an "alternate reality".
Personally, the whole book has a kind of "Fringe" (TV show) feel to it so far.
She soon finds that other people are living in her house and everyone keeps referring to her as "Sarah". Freaky huh? Turns out the house is now "Sarah's boyfriend's house" and "Sarah" has been living there with her bf and his parents, who seem to hate her.
In short her "boyfriend", Calvin, takes her to the Doctor and she ends up getting put in the psych ward, shocker I know! Meanwhile, back in her reality everyone is freaking out thinking that she has just run away by herself.
You are now up to date on the frist 60 pages of "Ripple Effect" more to come soon!

Book #4: "Revenge of the Nerd" ..Finished!!
March 17, 2013: 'Revenge of the Nerd' by John McNamara So I randomly decided to pick up this book when roaming around the library, mostly because of the title. I have always considered myself a bit of a nerd at heart :).
Anyway so I got this book, it was an extremely easy read (I needed something easy to read after the first two books) of a classic story line of a Nerd in high school, Bertram, and how he loves the classically beautiful blond, Louise, (who somehow is good a science, yes I know that doesn't make any sense.. what blond is good at science? ....i am just kidding i hope you know that). Every time he goes to talk to this amazing girl he "can't put a noun and verb together to save my life".
And when he isn't messing it all up for himself with this girl his arch nemesis Mike Godey is tripping him, calling him names, and just in general trying to make him look bad. Finally, after a prank by Mike involving a fake love letter that looks like it is from Louise that ends with everyone (including Louise) laughing at him, he decides that he can take it no more and that he will get his revenge on them all.
He ends up figuring out a way to transmit a live video feed to other people's TVs from his room and this is what he does to Louise, Mike, and two of Mike's friends who were also in on the prank. He dresses up as an alien and changes his voice and ends up convincing them that they are being contacted by another world and that they have a very special mission to do.
If you follow the whole idea of the classic story line it shouldn't be hard to figure out how this all ends. Turns out that while revenge seems sweet sometimes it doesn't get you all that you every hoped that it would.
Overall, it was a nice classic, funny, and easy read. Next book up is 'Ripple Effect' by Paul McCusker. That's all for now!

Book #3 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' finished!
March 16, 2013: Book #3 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower': Just finished! First thing that I got to say about it is that I loved how it didn't have a 'happy ending' like in all the generic movies and books that are in our generation today. You know what I mean? It was very refreshing to finish a book with the feeling of not really knowing if Charlie, the main person, was going to be okay in a few days when he starts feeling sad or lonely again. You really hope he does, but at the same time you can't say that he will with absolute certainty.
I have never related to a book more in my whole life. And if you have read it then no, I don't mean that all the stuff that has happen to Charlie I relate to,but just the feeling in general of livingon the fringes of life and always feeling like your trying to see what makes everyone the way they are and hoping that maybe it will help you figuer out why you are the way you are.
So as I sit here with my finished book in front of me I don't really feel sad that it's over. I feel like I have been given some kind of insight into something that I just can't exsplain to you becuase I just have no words for it. I'm sitting here listening to the playlist that Charlie made for Patrick'schristmas gift and I just understand what it was that Chbosky wanted to get across in this book.
So if you haven't read it.GO.READ.THIS.BOOK.
I have nothing more for you. However I will leave you with these words from Charlie's last letter, "So, I guess we arewho we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them."
Love always,
Michaela Jane
P.S. Book #4 will be 'Revenge of the Nerd' by John Mcnamara.

Book #3 : 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'
March 13,2013: "So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be." - Charlie from 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'
WOW. I mean just wow. I had heard that this book was good but I have to admit I wasn't ready for just how good it is. It is only day 5 reading it and I'm only on page 80 but I can already say with absolute certainty that I'm going to be extremely sad when I am done with this book.
A couple things that I must point out to you: On pages 70-73 there is seriously the most amazing poem. He never tells who it's by, wish he did cuz it is probably one of the best things I have ever read. I would write it here but it is really long and I don't want to make this so long that you feel like jumping off a cliff from boredom trying to read it.
The second thing that I wanted to point out was that in the book Charlie makes Patrick a mix tape and in the book Chbosky writes out a list of all the songs that are on it. May I recommend that you go listen to them all? And you have to listen to them in the right order. It is in a word: AMAZING.
So these are my thoughts so far :)
Love always,
Michaela Jane

Starting off..(just a bit late!)
March 10, 2013: Picture me sitting just a few days before New Years racking my brain trying to think of something that wasn't completely dorky for a New Years resolution. I generally hate making resolutions, I always end up forgetting about it. This year, 2013, was going to be different!
So then something possessed me to undertake the challenge of reading 100 books in only 1 year! Not sure what I was thinking but January 1st came and went and I started my challenge. It has had quite the rocky start but we are on are way! It isn't quite half way through March and I am only on book 3... now I know what you are thinking, 'There is no way she is going to finish.' or 'Reading this stupid blog is just stupid...why did I even click on this?'
BUT!! Before you do close me out please first hear me out! I will finish and I will read these 100 books and as I read them I would love nothing more then to hear your thoughts, opinions, and anything else you feel like saying to me. I will not just be posting when I finish the book but also while I am reading it, so that way you can experience it with me every step of the way. :)
I would love nothing more then to have you along with my on this journey and I hope you will come along! Please feel free to speak your mind if you have an opinion on a book I am reading I would love nothing more!! Also if you have a favorite book that you think is just a "MUST READ" then feel free to tell me about that as well! I am open to reading anything and everything!
The first 2 books I have read are:
#1) Title: "Inheritance"
By: Christopher Paolini
Page Count: 849
Thoughts: (First let me start by saying that these two first book descriptions are going to be really short and kinda basic I promise to get more elaborate from now on.)Anyway, if you are someone who enjoys the whole dragons/magical world kinda books then this book, which is the 4th and last in a series, is defiantly for you. Paolini does the most amazing job with his books and making his magical world of Alagesia come to life and jump from the page.
#2) Title: "The Two Towers"
By: J. R. R. Tolkien
Page Count: 352
Thoughts: Wow. What can you say about a book by Tolkien? Everyone of them that I have read has been amazing! At least everyone has heard of the hobbit Frodo and how he goes on his quest to destroy the 'one ring'. The book is the second installment of Tolkien's 'Lord Of The Rings' series. A classic and yet another amazing read.
This is all for now, next book I am going to conquer will be 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' - Stephen Chbosky. I only started it yesterday and don't have many thoughts on it yet. I'm sure that will all change in a matter of days though.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts and book suggestions over the next year!
Until next time fellow readers,
Michaela Jane
